Deleting

It is best to use the delete function when you want to remove content from Cascade CMS altogether.  Deleting content will unpublish it (with the exception of feedable content) and move it to the Trash, where it will remain for approximately 90 days before being purged from Cascade CMS entirely.

Deleted content can be restored from the Trash as long as the user has access to see it and as long as it has not been purged.

To delete a page or file:

  1. Select your site.
  2. Select the page you want to delete from within the asset tree.
  3. Select More from the the top right menu bar, then select Delete. Or, use the context menu and right-click on the page you want to copy in the asset tree, select More, then Delete.

By default, the page/file you are deleting, moving, or renaming will be unpublished from your live and QA web sites. Choosing not to unpublish from a destination may result in orphan files that are no longer maintained on the live website.

To restore a deleted page or file:

  1. Select your site.
  2. Select the Trash bin at the top of your asset tree.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the page(s) and/or files(s) you want to restore.
  4. Select the Restore button at the top of the files list.

The item will be placed in its original asset tree location.

If you don’t see the item you are looking for in the Trash, request help through SpiderTechNet.
