Accordions
Accordion Content is great for housing a large amount of text on a page. The word accordion is a reference to the style of this content as menus that can open and close on the page. This is a great tool for content such as frequently asked questions, archives, and awards listings. Accordions are closed by default and do not help with a page’s ranking in search results. We refer to this as hidden content. Accordions are great for a large amount of information, but critical content for users should live in the body text of a page.
Editing
If you are creating a new accordion from scratch, please first review our Attached Content guidelines.
When editing an accordion, you will see a series of menus, known as items. Each item represents a different menu in the accordion. For instance, each item could be a different question in a series of frequently asked questions. The fields inside each item are as follows:

Text: This is where you will input the name of the item. This text is visible to users before an accordion item is opened. (Example: “Where are your offices?”)

Active: This is a checkbox that must remain checked so that your item is visible on the site. If this box is unchecked, the item will not be visible. Unchecking this box is useful if you are drafting content, or plan on turning an item on at a later date.

ID: This is an optional field that can be ignored.

Content: This is where you can input paragraph-long text that is relevant to the item. Rich text options are available in this editing field (such as bold and italics). (Example: “Our offices are located in Weinstein Hall.”)

PHP In Line: This is an optional field that can be ignored.
Additional items can be added to the accordion by using the buttons in the upper right corner of each menu item. Using these buttons, you can drag menu items to reorder them, move them down one at a time, move an item to the bottom of the accordion, add an additional item, copy an item, or delete an item altogether.
