Slideshows

Image slideshows are a great way to share multiple pictures from a program or event. While a slideshow cannot be made directly within in Cascade, your site can display a photo album from Flickr as a slideshow. Slideshows can be added to a Row on a Landing Page or Secondary Page. They can also be added as a content type within the Main Content Region of a Secondary Page.

Photos will appear on your site in the same order that they are placed within your album on Flickr.

Getting Started

We recommend using Flickr for creating a photo album, and suggest reviewing these help guides if you are new to Flickr:

Album ID

Once you’ve created an album, open it in your browser and copy the final set of numbers in the URL (following the last forward slash). These numbers serve as your album ID, which you will need to connect your album to your site in Cascade.

Connecting to a Landing Page

To add a slideshow to a landing page, you will need to make use of the Modular Content Row. Under the Row Type menu, select Modular Content Row.

Within the first Content Region, under the Content Type menu, select Slideshow. And under Slideshow Type, select Flickr.

You may enter a title in the Title (optional) field. This title will appear directly above your slideshow on the webpage.

Then, in the Slideshow ID box, enter the album ID of your Flickr album.

Submit and publish your page to make your slideshow live.

Connecting to a Secondary Page

You can add a slideshow to the bottom of any Secondary Page by using the Row menu at the bottom of your page’s edit screen. Select Modular Content Row, and follow the above instructions for Connecting to a Landing Page.

Alternatively, if you wish to add a slideshow higher on the page, you can do so by opening up the Main Content Region. Under the Content Type menu, select Slideshow.

You may enter a title in the Title (optional) field. This title will appear directly above your slideshow on the webpage.

Under Slideshow Type, select Flickr, and then enter the album ID in the Slideshow ID box.

Submit and publish your page to make your slideshow live.

Using the Modular Content Row
Depending on how you choose to connect a slideshow to a page, you may make use of the Modular Content Row. Unsure of how this row works? Learn more about Custom Options for your page.
