Folders

Cascade CMS uses folders and subfolders to contain and organize your Site Content assets. When inside a site, the asset tree on the left is where your folders and their contained assets are displayed. Each site has a special folder called a base folder that contains all Site Content assets for that site. The base folder is the only folder that doesn't have a parent folder.

Clicking on a folder in the asset tree will expand it to reveal the subfolders and assets contained inside. To display the contents of the folder in the content pane on the right, click the arrow to the right of the folder name, or right-click the folder and select the folder name from the context menu. When viewing a folder's contents, you can sort the contained assets by name, folder order, asset type, or last modified date. If a folder contains image assets, you can click the Gallery View button to display thumbnail images.

Files

Files are content typically created by external programs and imported for use in Cascade CMS.

You can use file assets in Cascade CMS to manage and publish the content and metadata of a wide variety of file types including but not limited to images and PDFs. Unlike page assets, files are static and their contents doesn't change based on other assets in the system.
