Creating a Page
Use the following steps to add a page to your site.
- Select your site.
- Click Add Content and select an appropriate Asset template for the type of content you wish to create.
- In the Name field, enter a name for your asset.
- In the Placement Folder field, choose the folder where the asset should be stored, if applicable.
- Display Name, Title, and H1 (or Header 1). Follow the italicized help text below each field for further guidance.
- Enter your content in the remaining fields, which will vary depending on whether you've created a Landing Page or Secondary Page.
- Click Preview Draft to see a preview of what your content will look like. Please note that Lead Media, Related Content, and Attached Content typically will not display in the preview. Alternatively, follow our publishing guidance and publish to QA.
- Once you're ready to publish, click Submit. At this point, your changes are saved to Cascade, but your page is not yet live on the website. Note: If your site uses workflow, you may be prompted to enter comments for the workflow reviewer and start the workflow at this point.
- When you are ready to publish the page live to your site, click Publish to send your content to the web server. Or if your site uses workflow, wait for the workflow to be approved.

Previewing A Page
When creating or editing a page, you can preview your content before publishing:
- When editing a page, you can click Show Edit Preview to see a preview of your changes alongside the content fields as you make them. The preview will refresh with each update to your Draft.
- To view a larger preview of your Draft, drag the Edit Preview preview divider to make the preview area larger or click Preview Draft.
- To view a full screen preview of a page in a new tab or window, select More > Full Screen Preview while viewing the page.
-
Live View
If your page has been published, you can go directly to the live page on the web by selecting More > Live.
The URL for the Live link is generated by combining the Site URL, the page’s path, and the page’s extension as specified in its output. For example, if the current Site URL is http://web.richmond.edu, the page’s path is /news/index, and the selected output’s extension is .html; then the resulting URL of the Live link would be http://web.richmond.edu/news/index.html.
If you’re not able to see the live page, confirm that the page was successfully published.
