Connecting to a Page

Your site may have already been set up so that an event, story, or update appears on your home page or on another page on your site. In most cases, we utilize the Feedable Content Row on these pages. If this is the first time you are adding feedable content to your site, here is what you'll need to know.

Categories and Display Groups

Feedable Content will appear in a feed when a certain Category or Display Group is selected. For instance, inclusion.richmond.edu has an events feed on their index page in which the category selected is scei. This pulls any event that also has the scei category selected onto the page.

Categories correspond with events and Display Groups correspond with stories and updates. Multiple categories can be assigned to an event, and multiple display groups can be assigned to a story or update.

For Landing Pages

The Feedable Content Row is the main way to display events, stories, and updates on a webpage.

The Spotlight Stories Row is an alternative way to display stories in a feed on your website.

Modular Content Row can also contain stories. Within the Content Regions dropdown menu, select “Story Item.”

For Secondary Pages

To add a story to the Main Content region of a secondary page, select “Stories” under the Content Type menu, and navigate to the Story Item menu that appears. You can enter one or multiple stories using their Story ID. Use grid sizes to adjust the size of each story.

Learn more about this in Custom Options.

There is also the option to “float” a story or event within a text region on a secondary page. Navigate to the Main Content region, and inside the Text Region, open the Floated Content menu. For stories, open the Content Type menu and select “Story Item.” Under the menu that appears, enter one or multiple stories in the Story ID field. For events, open the Content Type menu and select “Calendar Item.” Similarly, enter the event ID in the ID field. Like stories, an event’s ID number is the 5-digit number found in the URL of the event when it is publicly listed.

The Feedable Content Row and Spotlight Stories Row are also available as Rows on a secondary page. By default, these will appear beneath the main content region.
